For those who wish to travel independently we can arrange car hire and help organise an itinerary with hotel bookings and a travel advice pack with recommended sites to see, places to eat and general information based on our intimate knowledge of the region to make sure that that you do not end your holiday regretting something that you missed! All our travel advice packs will include up to date information not only on road conditions but also events and festivals that are relevant to the time you are visting.
We will also be more than happy to arrange the itinerary that you want. Whether you are a church group wishing to visit holy sites such as the birth place of Abraham, Mount Ararat where Noah's came to rest or the many early Christian churches and monasteries, vulcanologists who want to see the fantastic volcanic landscapes of eastern and central Anatolia, school parties trying to bring school curricula to life or sporting, climbing and walking clubs looking for the experience of a life time. We will design a tour that will exceed all your expectations!
Through the year there are a number of cultural and sporting events that are unique to the region. We can include these events in any of your tours should you wish, if the timing is right. You could witness the Cirit competitions from mid May through to the end of June which are exhibitions of horsemanship from an era gone by. Alternatively there are festivals that include unique regional variations of bull fighting which unlike the Spanish variant involve competition between bulls; the bulls are not killed. There is also wrestling, which like the bull fighting, has its origins in the distant past- these can be seen from April to the end of July. You will be able to participate in the festivities that are a part of these extraordinary sporting events and have the opportunity to meet the participants first hand and to join in the celebrations that are a part of these gatherings. |
