1Day 1 - Sanliurfa overnight
Upon your arrival in Sanliurfa you will be met by your driver. You will travel to the ongoing archaeology dig at Gobekli Tepe.
Gobekli Tepe is one of the most important archaeology digs being undertaken anywhere – this site represents a major shift in our understanding of mans cultural evolution. From Gobekli Tepe we will travel the one hour distance to visit its “sister site” at Karahan Tepe.
This is an exciting new excavation of a contemporary site of a ceremonial and settlement area similar to the now inundated Nevali Cori.

2Day 2 - Sanliurfa Archaeological Museum
Sanliurfa Archaeological Museum and The Haleplibahce Mosaic Museum. This museum complex is one of the outstanding museums in the eastern Mediterranean region. Its Neolithic section is probably the best of its type anywhere, while the mosaic museum houses exquisite Roman period mosaics from the 4th and 5th centuries.
Exposed by bulldozers during a construction project for a new shopping mall, these fabulous mosaics have been preserved in-situ where they had been buried for over 1500 years! The shopping mall was constructed elsewhere and this whole area is now an Archaeological Park and Museum.
In the afternoon we will visit the 400 year old covered bazaar and the Pools of Abraham.
